The food court in Reagan has struck again, they have the worst options for food in all of downtown.
I made another mistake by giving the 14th Street Deli a chance. I went with their soup and sandwich option. Soup was broccoli and cheddar, I tasted no cheddar, there were broccoli chunks but they didn't add much to the flavor. The soup was heavily watered down.
For the sandwich I went with chicken salad, while it wasn't horrible it definitely isn't something that I would ever request again.
Not a fan, no plans to return and not worth a visit even with the limited options available in the food court. -

We wandered into the Ronald Reagan building on a sweltering afternoon and headed for the food court after going through security check. Fortunately it was an "off" time so it was not crowded, at all. I love delis, so I headed over. The Reuben sounded good and that's what I ordered. I cannot begin to imagine how long the line must get during a busy time because it took forever to make this sandwich. Anticipating something special after the wait, I was sorely disappointed. It was really nothing special, just average. I don't think I would order from this deli should I ever return.

I asked for an oatmeal cookie 3 times, but the rude older woman opined I didn't tell her I wanted 1. If i did not want one why would I ask you 3 times *sigh*.....smh
I went to the other side of the food court and found the employees at Larry's to be much more appreciative of my business.
As another Yelper said this place has Illy's but for better service I'd rather pickup a cup of Seattle's best from Larry's. -

I wouldn't normally post a review after one visit to a shop, but in this case, after eating a sandwich that I wouldn't consider good with meat of questionable quality, and reading the many Yelp reviews (a moment too late), I think I will do my civic duty and warn others not to bother eating here.
It was a toss up between Subway (which I am a fan of their multi-various veggie toppings and vinaigrettes) and this place. Since I can get Subway anytime, anywhere, I decided to try this place. It was not yet lunch hour so no crowds at any place.
The 'Aoli' chicken sandwich was advertized as a special at $7.45 so I ordered it. But straight away she charged me $0.50 extra for some jalapenos (whereas at Subway they are part of the deal). It annoyed me. Then the sandwich took a long time to grill. I was patient because I figured good things are waiting for.
Whilst waiting, I saw an egg-white omlette with vegetables being grilled up. The lady tossed on a bunch of grated cheddar cheese. The customer swooped in and told her he had asked her for pepper jack cheese (first world preferences I know....) whereupon, she scraped off the cheddar, put it back into the cheese bin, and retopped the cooking egg with new cheese. It felt a little strange seeing something that informal here. I'm not complaining but it seemed she should have paid attention to the customer's specific order in the first place!
When I finally took a bite of my sandwich I felt immediately that either the bacon or the chicken was not cooked through. There was a lot of mayo and perhaps aoili oil, but only tomatoes (no lettuce or any attempt at a varied sandwich construction). The jalapenos which cost me extra provided a bit of flavor. The meat was not well cooked through. I finished the sandwich because I do not like to waste food.
This was thoroughly disappointing. I would say find another hot sandwich place. Subway is literally steps away! -

This joint doesn't deserve the name of deli! They don't give you a napkin without asking. No mustard on a roast beef sandwich. The mustard they had (after asking) was in packets and old and drying out. What sandwich shop doesn't have mustard? Sourdough translated to stale white bread. How stupid of me not to check Yelp first. Napkins, fresh bread, and mustard are not hard things to fix.
